Chancellor Academy is a school that serves

non-traditional 6th-12th grade students from diverse communities who have been unable to achieve success in reaching their true potential in other educational settings.
Chancellor Academy’s Mission is to ensure students acquire the necessary tools, skills, attitudes, opportunities and experiences to mature emotionally, develop socially, and progress academically according to their level of ability in order to become productive participants at home, at school and in the community.

Chancellor Academy Language Arts/Literacy
Chancellor Academy’s Language Arts/Literacy (English) curriculum includes instruction in Reading and Remedial Reading, Basics Skills English, College Preparatory English, Creative Writing, and Literature.
English teachers prepare students to demonstrate satisfactory reading and writing skills, as assessed by the HSPA and SAT.
Chancellor Academy implements remedial reading and writing instruction based on the “Guided Reading” and “Starting Over” reading programs.
Reading instructors provide individual and small group instruction to increase decoding, comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, research and writing skills.
As students progress, they develop competence in the areas of reading critically, paragraph and essay writing, creative writing, conducting research, listening, oral expression, vocabulary usage, and editing.
